Planting Onions and Potatoes
with Gerda VanLeeuwen
Gerda begins by working Peat Moss and Bio-Max (3 in 1) soil into the existing soil
After making a furrow in the soil, Gerda plants the onions and covers them over with the soil surrounding
the furrow.
Onions
Potatoes
As she states in the video, Gerda does not prepare the soil as much as she did with the onions as
potatoes will grow in all kinds of soil. In the above photos, Gerda cuts the potatoes and lays them on the
side with the eye sideways (see video). She covers the potatoes with the soil and will continue to mound
the soil around each plant during the growing process. Before long she will be rewarded with a
wonderful crop of potatoes. Watch the video for more information.
